Being a mum is a tough enough job on its own without the day to day jobs that have to be done too. I’m a work at home mum who also homeschools so my working week is always a busy one.
I think all of us mums are guilty of sitting ourselves on the back seat when it comes to taking care of ourselves. We are so busy mumming everyone else, it’s easy to let our own health slip. Here are some ways how to stay healthy as a busy mum even when you have a full schedule.
Drink Your Water!
This is something that I really slacked on until the past few months. I now make sure that I drink at least 2-3 litres per day. Not only does water keep your energy levels up, but it also hydrates the brain, aids with weight loss and helps digestion. You could always add a little sugar-free squash if you find drinking water a chore.

Get Moving
As I work from home I can be tied to my desk for quite some time. I complete work in time blocks so I can have regular breaks to stretch my legs. I’m always off for walks across the fields around us and playing outside with the children.
I have never really been a gym bunny and find it quite tedious, although I used to attend quite a few years ago. Because of my lack of enthusiasm for the gym, I do boxing. I’ve got my own punchbag at home where I can spar whenever I like. It keeps me fit and it is a great stress reliever when you’ve had a testing day!
Give yourself a MOT!
If you are a driver, you wouldn’t let the maintenance of your car slip would you? Get yourself an all over check up. Lots of clinics and private health providers will do a full health scan, just like the Dexa Scan. They are so clever and can measure muscle mass, total body fat, bone mineral density and much more.
also be sure to keep on top of dental appointments, opticians and hearing tests with reputable companies such as Northern Spire Hearing Services.

Do More Of What You Love!
Make time for yourself. This is definitely something I have prioritised just recently. Whether you enjoy snuggling up with a good book, watching a few episodes of your favourite series, gardening, crocheting, whatever you enjoy, make sure to do more of it!

Great to be active throughout the day and break up the work schedule. I get bored of going to the gym so I do a few HIIT exercise workouts at home which take 10 mins. the Dexa Scan sounds really interesting 🙂
Some great ideas!
I really needed to read this tips so thank you!
