Wedding day gretna 2

Whenever I think back to our Wedding day it never fails to make me smile. It was the best day ever!

I had known Craig from our school years. We grew up and went our own ways only for our paths to cross again in years to come. Not having been together all that long (3 months) we were expecting Jayden. Then 3 months afterwards we were getting married in Gretna Green. I think you just know when you meet the ‘right one’. We had both been in relationships previously that were not for us but as soon as we got together we just clicked.

The Forge Gretna Green

We had a low key wedding, big fancy affairs are just not my thing. We chose The Forge at Gretna Green as our venue and invited close friends and family. And what a fab time we had. We didn’t have a honeymoon as we were moving into our new family home with little funds and a baby on the way! It just wasn’t doable as much as we would have loved to have gone somewhere sunny.

So it got me thinking what if we were to renew our vows. I have quite a few friends who have done this recently. If money was no object there would be quite a few places I would like to go, so a cruise seems really appealing to me! I think Dubai would be a great stop on our trip. It’s somewhere I have always wanted to go so it seems right to add it to our list. Maybe you might want to check out Dubai holidays for 2018? The Maldives looks very tempting too. I could get used to sunning myself on those lush golden sandy beaches staring out across the clear blue ocean sipping some kind of cocktail! Oh, take me there now.

Did you have a honeymoon? Or perhaps you are thinking of renewing your vows?

  1. My sister and her husband renewed their vows on their 25th Anniversary. This August will be their 50th anniversary – wow hard to believe it’s been so long. You look beautiful in your photos! If you do renew your vows, be sure and share pics! #MMBC

  2. I haven’t thought of renewing my vows. My parents celebrated their 50th anniversary last year and I suggested that they renew theirs. They decided not to but we did have a great celebration party :o)

  4. I was actually engaged to my ex-husband for three years and had my first son within that time but our wedding itself was rushed because I was due to report to the Marine Corp Boot Camp within the month so we didn’t have time for a honeymoon. We also didn’t have the money either so either way it just wasn’t doable. I would have liked a honeymoon though. A cruise would have been just the right way for me to celebrate:) Thanks so much for hosting #MondayMorningBlogClub

  5. we renewed our vows just over 9 years ago, I enjoyed it more than our wedding day because we were not as nervous
