We are extremely lucky to have such pretty surroundings where we live. We have a lot of different scenic routes to take, from rambling across open fields to walking alongside the peaceful canal paths. And as we are on a bid to get fit, it’s the ideal place to burn some calories off.
And recently being approached by Hi-tec to try out some of their walking boots, I was ready to go. I chose the ladies Alto II Mid Waterproof Multi Sport Boot in a size 6.

I absolutely LOVE them. Before I go into a little more detail of what I thought of these, here are a few features.
• Waterproof
• Breathable suede & mesh upper
• Supersoft removable EVA midsole
• Strong grip with MDT rubber sole
Walking
To be honest when we go for walks I normally wear trainers and then throw them in the washing machine afterwards, so this is the first time I have used walking boots. I must say I’ve been missing out. These are so comfortable, I couldn’t believe just how cushioned they were against the soles of my feet, even after around 5 miles there were no signs of irritation or soreness and didn’t rub as some new shoes/boots do until you wear them in.
Being out in the countryside here with farmland, we get mud and lots of it, so it’s the perfect scenario to test out the grip. I waded through 3-4 inches of mud, through tractor tracks, which would see you on your backside if attempted with trainers, I just plodded on straight through.

We walked through fields …….

Climbed countless stiles……..

Conclusion
They are just brilliant. I only wished I had used these earlier.
My favourite features are the cushioning, just how well they grip in muddy, wet terrains and I like how these boots are more feminine with the added touch of pink. A lot of walking boots can tend to look a little masculine, so it’s nice that these steered away from that look.
I would definitely recommend these to anybody who is the outdoors type and for £54.99 they are well worth every single penny.
Why not take a look at Hi-tec’s ranges ?
