Christmas trees are up and decorations make the house feel festive. So what better time to share a lovely Christmasy craft?! We have partnered up with Hobbycraft to make this Christmas scene in a jar. It only takes about 5 minutes to do and is super duper easy.
What You Need
- Artificial snow
- A toy car
- A jar
- Miniature Christmas tree
Before starting on the actual craft, I used my glue gun and put four splodges of glue underneath. As this will be displayed on a shelf the glue will act as little feet to stop the jar from rolling over and my fake snow going all over the place!
My son kindly loaned me this colourful yellow VW beetle toy car, which is the perfect size to fit into my jar. The jar we are using is a 500ml preserving jar. Using my glue gun I put a small amount of glue on the roof to adhere the tree to.
I poured some of the artificial snow into my jar. Only a small amount is needed, just enough to cover the bottom.
I popped my little car inside and that is it! You could perhaps add a little street lamp that lights up. These can be found in most shops that sell dolls house miniatures.
Such an easy peasy craft yet very effective. You could make all kinds of scenes and I’m sure the kids would love to get stuck in.
