I love getting stuck into a good craft project and especially when it is a Christmas craft. I do a lot of crafts, both with the boys and my own makes too. I have just finished a Christmas shadow box with a little help from Hobbycraft.
Christmas Themed Shelving Display
Firstly, I sprayed the wooden house with a couple of coats of white Plastikote. Whilst that was drying I made a start on my miniature model house. I got this and a tree from a shop that sells model railways and accessories. It was the perfect size that I was after and it had just enough space inside to home a battery powered led tealight.
Once I had built the house and the shed, I then sprinkled fake snow on top and also covered the tree and the top shelf.
I then glued my mini stockings to my fireplace and secured my battery powered lights to the wall using small magnets. I got these from a dolls house accessories retailer.
The Christmas tree is another dolls house miniature which I glued presents onto the base. I think it looks cosy!
I then used up some pinecones that we found on a walk, painted the tips in white and added white pom poms.
And not forgetting to leave a plate out for Santa and the reindeers!
I had loads of fun making this up. I guess it could be used for allsorts of different themes. Or to simply display some of your small ornaments. Either way, I am sure you will enjoy putting your own mark on it, as did I.
It looks ace with the lights turned on and makes a nice little feature on our fireplace.

We are crafters here (except the other half, he just makes noise on the PS4 lol). I love the house idea and will definitley be giving it a go for next year. This year we created an indoor colour changing snowman and had great fun without the frostbite. 🙂
I would never be able to do anything like this, I really dont have the skills or patience, must make it that much nicer when your christmas decorations are your own, so lovely
I love this I have bookmarked it for next year 🙂
