I think it’s such a load off your mind knowing that your house and all of it’s contents are safe and secure when you are away from home. The Y-Cam HD Indoor HDS can take care of that. And not only is it just a security camera, it can be used to see what your pet gets up to when you’re not around, or to monitor your little one whilst tucked up asleep.

Previously working in care I think a very beneficial use for this camera would be to watch over elderly relatives or friends. Especially if they are prone to falls or vulnerable, this would be a certain lifeline.

We have been putting the HD wireless camera to the test the past week and I must say I am very impressed.

Here are a few of the features and I will go into a little more detail on this cool cam afterwards.

● Wifi or Wired

● Free Cloud Storage (So no problem if your cam gets stolen, the clips are still saved)

● Access on the go

● Easy set up

● Notifications straight to your device

● Night vision

It took literally 10 minutes to set up the camera. First we plugged it into the back of the router and then turned on at the mains.

Log onto homemonitor.me and create an account and a profile will be made for that specific camera using the unique camera id included.

It goes on to search for the wifi network, enter router password and then your ready to mount the camera in the desired position. From there you then set up the features you want such as motion sensor. This is a great feature as the camera only records when it senses something in its range, it also has two zones where you can designate in your room and increase the sensitivity in one area or decrease.

The night vision is brilliant. I expected it to be a little pixellated when the lights were out but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The picture clarity remains clear and precise.

You can also toggle with the video quality from standard to high, turn the microphone on or off, adjust the length of recording and so on.

After you are happy with the settings you can then access your camera by logging into your Y-Cam account from any device with an internet connection.

I logged in with my IPhone with the Y-Cam app, whilst out and about.

I did catch Grandad singing along to kids tv with the boys (he was oblivious to the camera). It was rather special to say the least, so I left that one off here hehe.

This is a big hit with us, it has so many features that other monitors do not have and the quality is amazing, I would certainly recommend this if you are on the look out for one yourself.
