We have recently been testing out The Shape Kids magnetic blocks set as part of the Rainbow Awards toy tester panel. Each year the Rainbow Toy Awards reward the very best new toys on the market. Bloggers like myself put the products to the test and our feedback contributes to the final decision of who wins the award!
The Shape Kids & Books Age 3-6 yrs
I really like wooden toys. They are built to last and remind me back to my childhood where many toys were indeed wooden (Not too many years ago mind).
I also like the concept of these sets as the characters out of the books are brought to life in the form of these lovely vibrant and interchangeable magnetic shapes. Each book has a moral to its story. Teaching little ones positive life lessons such as the importance of telling the truth and being honest.

Colour and shape recognition is encouraged whilst playing with the shape kids. Children can, of course, build their own creations which opens a whole new world of imaginative play too.
Both of my boys love building. My oldest being slightly above the maximum age of six prefers his Lego and K’nex. My youngest however, who is almost three loves building sets and will sit for ages having fun, as he creates something new.
Overall, The Shape Kids is a nice little play-set. It would be nice to see a wider range of books available and perhaps some kind of Interactive app that could be fit in with the toys. With todays technology, a lot of little ones have tablets including my two, so might be worth looking into!
