Things To Consider When Buying A House

I am no stranger when it comes to looking at properties, whether that’s Greenville SC Real Estate for a fantasy home in the USA that I’ll probably never have (I still love looking at them though!) or the next step for my family and I. From living in a flat at the age of 17 to having my own mortgage at 19. Craig and I have also rented various properties too. In fact, we have just recently moved into the house we are in now. It seemed to take us quite a while to find something that suited us, you know, something that you just instantly know is for you. After all, you only get around 20 minutes maximum to view a property and there are lots of factors that should be considered before you make that final decision. Here are a few things we look for to make ‘a house’ our home.

Things That Make Up My Dream Home

The first thing I look for is the age of the property. I love older houses, I feel they have so much more character to them. I also like a house to ideally be in the countryside. For one, you don’t get caught up in the hustle and bustle that town/city houses can bring and they tend to have larger and more established gardens. This suits me down to the ground as I love gardening.

Living further out in the countryside also brings lots of wildlife to your doorstep too. The kids love discovering our new furry and feathered neighbours.

With having a preference for older type properties we have to be aware that we could potentially be faced with more complications due to the age of the building. There could be underlying damp problems, dodgy wiring, subsidence, my first property had most of these to put right. Moving house can be quite daunting and a decision that shouldn’t be made lightly.
