As soon as the boys saw the first episode of The Lion Guard, I knew they would be hooked. The Lion Guard (if you don’t know) is a children’s programme aired on Disney Junior. Based on The Lion King, the series sees us sharing adventures with Kion, the son of king Samba, who becomes the leader of the Lion Guard. His friends, Bunga, Beshte, Fuli and Ono are also on a mission to keep the pride lands safe. I think it has the most catchy songs as well. I often find myself singing them, let alone the kids!
Meet Bunga
The boys were over the moon to have this cute little fella landed on our doorstep. Bunga is a honey badger and his speciality is bravery. You will often hear his favourite catchphrase in the programme……………….
‘Zuka Zama!’
This adorable 30cm talking plush toy is from Just Play Flair. He has a light up ‘Mark of the Guard’ arm badge.
He has four different phrases and one being a fart sound! My 6 year old thinks this is by far, the best thing he does! I think most kids would agree.
There is also a plush Kion available too. Kion’s fearsome open mouth pose makes him ready to roar and take on every Pride Land adventure.

Ahh my kids are OBSESSED with The Lion King, it’s their favourite film! This looks so lovely, Meggy would go nuts over this!

We have seen a few episodes of The Lion Guard but my two never really got into The Lion King in general as much as some others… if they do, at least I will know where to buy some merchandise 🙂
