We love nothing more than welcoming in the weekend by packing up the car and going on a little adventure near the beach.
We think caravan holidays are perfect for families, we can’t get enough of them! It is a great way to get the kids out enjoying nature, they are budget-friendly, have lots of fantastic locations to stay at and most important of all, a whole load of fun!
With that said, packing for a family holiday is normally done with military precision. That’s why we have partnered up with the lovely Very to bring you some super-cool summer essentials to take along with you on your next adventure!

Summer outfits
When you dwell in the UK you will soon get used to how quickly the weather can change. It can be brilliant sunshine one minute and a full-on downpour the next! It really is that unpredictable.
I like to take a choice of outfits, like shorts and t/shirts for at the beach and the boys’ Adidas hoodies for when it gets a little breezy.
Sliders and trainers are always packed, I let the boys pack a rucksack of things for themselves to make sure that they have some of their home comforts when sleeping in a strange place. And of course not forgetting some cool children’s sunglasses.
I always cover the boys in sun cream when the sun is out and always like them to wear their hats.
Jayden chose this super-smart Hugo Boss cap.
Joben has this lovely Adidas cap which goes with pretty much any outfit.
Family Gaming
I’m all for cutting back on screen time where I can, but I dare you to take your kids away in a car for hours without any entertainment. I am quite confident that you would probably lose your mind before even reaching halfway to your destination!
My two love playing on their switches and iPads, so we make sure to pack all of the charges and their favourite games to play.
Joben loves playing Crash Bandicoot racing and Animal Crossing whereas Jayden loves the jump scare of Five Night’s At Freddie’s on the Nintendo Switch!
We always have some board games and family jigsaw puzzles at the caravan to keep us entertained. They are a nice way to relax before the kids go to bed, or a fun way to pass an hour if it decides to rain! Board games are the ultimate way to get the whole family together, which we always enjoy!
Pet Accessories
We love to take Bruce with us when we go on holiday and just like us, he needs his little necessities and comforts too! Mainly treats in Bruce’s case though, hehe.
We take his dog bowls for dinner times and the essential poo bags. I really like the mini dog walking bag, because I can put poo bags and my phone in there, leaving my hands free and ideal if you like to go for a quick run or brisk walk in the morning with your doggy in tow.
Toiletries and Medication
As well as the general toiletries, you need when going on holiday, we always take a plethora of meds with us. If you know us well, then you will know my husband has had a heart transplant so when he takes a week or two worth of meds, you are talking a huge amount of tablets!
And me being the overthinker that I am, I have it all covered from plasters, antihistamine cream, Calpol, Paracetamol and any other concoction that we might be unfortunate enough to need! You can never be too careful when it comes to the kiddies.
So there are just a few ways I prep for a family holiday.

Just like you we packed all those things when we went to Menorca. Plenty of games on their ipads for the flight and in case of any delays in the airport. Sun cream, sun hat and sun glasses is a must and that goes for all of us too. We also had to pack their cuddly toys and a few of their toys so they can feel a bit like home. We also packed an empty bottle each so we can refill it instead of buying water over there. Better for the environment that way but also saves a bit of money

I’m looking to book a caravan over the summer but looking for a good deal. We might settle for camping as its alot cheaper but still good fun x

Your boy’s outfits and caps look great! I don’t have any holidays planned but when I have gone away in the past I always pack all the essential first aid things too. It’s better to be fully prepared!

We love a caravan holiday. I always end up packing way to much though! And usually end up forgetting something for myself, last time it was pyjamas 😅
Thanks for bringing this option up. I think too many people dismiss it for the sake of centre Parcs etc yet this could be so great for the family together.
