We have been Orchard Toys fans since forever! Both of my boys own many of their games and puzzles.
My youngest is autistic and struggles to pay attention long enough to enjoy the majority of games, but over time, I have discovered that he loves Orchard Toys games.
We have kindly been sent some of the newest range and we are kicking off first with Fun Food Bingo.
This foodie game has quickly become a favourite in our house, offering a perfect blend of education and fun.

What’s in the Box?

The game includes four colourful bingo boards, each featuring a variety of foods from around the world and 36 food cards to match. We love the illustrations of the different food items, they are so bright and cheerful.

How to Play

Playing Fun Food Bingo is straightforward and quick to learn, which is a huge plus for families with younger children. Each player takes a bingo board, and the food cards are placed face-down in the centre. Players take turns picking a card and seeing if it matches any of the foods on their board. If your board has that food, you place a dinner plate on your board to mark it. The first person to fill their board shouts “Bingo!” and wins the game.

Why We Love It

  1. Educational Value: This game is not just about having fun, it’s also a great educational tool. It helps children recognise and name different types of foods, some of which they might not encounter regularly. This opens up wonderful opportunities for discussions about various cuisines and healthy eating habits.
  2. Enhances Memory and Observation Skills: Fun Food Bingo encourages children to focus and pay attention to details. Matching the cards to the board requires keen observation and helps improve memory skills, making it a sneaky way to boost cognitive development while having fun.
  3. Perfect for Family Time: The game is designed for 2-4 players, making it ideal for a family game night. It’s also quick to play, with each round lasting about 5-10 minutes. This makes it perfect for holding the attention of younger kids without dragging on too long.
  4. Portable and Durable: The game’s components are made from sturdy cardboard, ensuring they can withstand enthusiastic little hands. The compact box makes it easy to take along on trips, ensuring you have a fun activity ready wherever you go.

While the game is fantastic for younger children, older kids might find it a bit simplistic. However, it’s a great way for older siblings to engage with their younger brothers and sisters. My eldest helps his younger brother play so they both get some quality time together (without any bickering!)
