I think we all see flaws in our own appearance, it’s just human nature isn’t it?! Whether it be weight, a skin condition, facial features or hair, there is always something that we are not quite happy with.
With that said, it doesn’t mean that surgery is the only solution! There are many ways to embrace body positivity without going under the knife or having some random injection full of god knows what!
Here are some easy, pain-free and inexpensive ways on how to be more body confident.
Natural shapewear
So many fab brands have shape-control underwear to offer. They give you all of the confidence boosts you need and support those few extra calories that were gained over Christmas! Shapewear is much kinder than liposuction and certainly much safer!
Outdoor Exercise
If you’re looking to get fitter, what better way than to get outside and walk? No stuffy gyms just fresh air and views aplenty. We love nothing more than going for walks and it’s a nice way to spend some quality time together as a family. Outdoors is good for the soul!
Pamper yourself
I don’t know about you but having two children sees me sometimes taking a back seat on ‘me time’. A treat for myself works wonders and makes me feel like myself again! I have super thick long hair, so when it’s unruly it really gets me down. A simple pamper day at the hairdressers and perhaps some shopping to finish off really lifts my mood.
You may be the opposite and have considerably thinner hair and feel really self-conscious about it. Lilyhair human hair toppers add volume to your hair fast and naturally.
These little treats go a long way to help us gain confidence and love ourselves a little more.
New Clothes
Leggings, baggy t/shirt or hoodies, do these sound familiar? It’s easy to get stuck in a rut with clothing, especially when you become a mum. No one loves their leggings more than me! I’ve recently invested in some new clothing, as I was fortunate enough to have had money and quite a few clothing gift cards for my 40th birthday.
It’s surprising the difference it makes when you pop on a new outfit. I have even added some bright colours to my wardrobe to break up the darker colours I generally go for.
Give Yourself A Break
Easier said than done because we can be our own worst enemies sometimes! But, be kind to yourself. Don’t let your inner voice drag you down. Instead, think of the positives, what do you like best about yourself? Focus on those rather than running yourself down. I hate my mum tum! It’s never really left me but then I think of the amazing things my body did to bring my beautiful boys into this world.
Most importantly make time to love you a little more. Everyone is unique with flaws and all!
all very true and worth remembering!
