We are all awaiting the new season with patience and excitement. The receding of the horrible weather and the introduction of warmth? We are all here for that. The one thing that isn’t here for that? Your garden!
The garden is the one area of the home that gets the least attention through the winter. It’s left to fend for itself. It’s not very fair, but it’s time now to get your garden ready for the spring months, and with the tips below, you can get going today.
Get The Clean Up Started
Your garden has been battered and bruised while you have been cosied up indoors. You need to think about how much rain has hit your grass and how you plan to look after it. Clear up all the lawn and borders so that flowers are not covered in debris whipped up by the wind. Rubbish, leaves, extra petals from nearby flowers: it’s all going to mess up your garden. Get it cleared and you’re good to go.
Sort The Tools
From the lawnmower to the garden instruments, you need to sort your tools and ensure that they aren’t rusty. Get the old soil from the tools and wash everything off with soap and water. You don’t need to worry about any chemicals, but mineral spirits work on the handles of wood.
Look After Your Soil
The soil has to be ready before you plant it in the Spring months. You need to turn it all over and rake it out, and you need to clear out any of the weeds that have grown over the time of neglect. Always use compost to add as many nutrients as possible to the soil. Mix the soil so that you can keep it as healthy as possible.
Map Out A Plan
Look at your garden once it’s cleared out and think about looking at replacing the grass. You can click here and ensure that you have a green lawn that is healthy and ready for the summer. Sure, it may not be real grass, but who cares! Your garden is going to look healthy, and that’s what matters the most. You need to plan the flower beds in your garden so that you can keep colour in the yard, and you can choose the right colours for the season.
Upkeep Is A Must
While you are busy getting your garden cleared and preened to perfection, think about how much time you need to put into it so that you can keep it looking beautiful. You want to make sure that you are looking after the flowers and cutting back the flowerbeds when necessary. Artificial grass still needs to be looked after, and you can learn how to do that here.
Your garden needs as much attention as you can give it and you need to make sure that you map out the plan to keep your newly cleaned garden alive!

Thanks for all the tips. Spring is my favourite season. I’d never go for artificial grass, though, something unnatural about it!
