Having two little bookworms, sees us investing in new books all the time. We are always back and fourth to our local library too, which I think is brilliant for little ones. In my opinion, the younger they are introduced to books, the better. Recently we have added another lovely children’s picture book to our collection……

Edie, by Sophy Henn

Children's picture book - Edie by Sophy Henn

Edie is such a helpful little girl, so helpful, whether it be helping to wake Mummy and Daddy up, helping with the shopping, she’s just so helpful! However sometimes she can over do it a little! Such as decorating the walls with her paints and making Dads shoes more funky with her glue and glitter.

Edie is a lovely colourful picture book, with a certain retro feel to the illustrations. It has a pleasant story line which is just perfect to prompt talks with little ones about being helpful. It truly is a nice little read!

The author/illustrator Sophy Henn is also behind Pom Pom Bear and Pass It On. Both equally as good as this one.

You can see Joben is a big fan!

Reading Edie by Sophy Henn

  1. I completely agree with you. Darcey was about 8 months when we started to get her looking at the touchy feely books and lift the flap books. She absolutely loves looking at books with us.

  2. What a lovely looking book! My two-year-old is book obsessed too (gets it from me I think) – there needs to be at least two stories before bedtime, which I adore. He really likes Mog the Cat at the moment, as Mog looks like our cat x

  3. This looks like such a fun book. We are always looking for new things to read, so this would be great to add to our collection.

  4. Oooo , we got a couple of Sophy Henn books for Christmas (Where Bear and Pass it on) I’d not come across her before but we love them – this looks equally as good ?

  5. Sophy Henn is not a familiar children’s author and illustrator to me but I absolutely love the illustrations in Edie. I’ve had a look at what else is available and found several other books I like the look of, too. Grateful for the introduction and review.
