Toy wheel

When you have a family with little ones, travelling in the car can get quite ‘stressful’ to say the least! So we always make sure that before we set off, we have plenty of things to keep the kids entertained on our travels. When we were kindly sent the Casdon Backseat Driver toy, Joben couldn’t wait to get behind the wheel!

The steering wheel is attached to a relatively long pole with a sucker on the end. Simply stick that to the car window and the stand fits snuggly between your child’s legs. This play-set is fab for role play and Joben loved mimicking Mommy and Daddy’s driving with his own little dashboard.

The wheel comes complete with a horn. But don’t dismay! You will be glad to hear that it’s not an intrusive noise that is going to grate on your brain, it’s pretty quiet to be fair. It has it’s own little set of keys and mobile phone that sits on the side, but as you can see Joben keeps taking these off. We had a few minor strops when he dropped them, which did result on a couple of occasions with me doing my contortionist act and stretching behind the seat to retrieve them.

This is a pleasant little toy to keep little ones entertained on long journeys. It encourages development of hand to eye co-ordination and activities to help develop motor skills and problem solving.

Overall I think Joben was happy with his new wheel and for £12.00 I think it’s pretty good value for money. I wouldn’t expect to pay much more for this model though. You can see more fab travel toys like this on Casdon’s Little Driver section.

  1. hehehe! What a blast from the past. I remember my brother having something similar when he was a kid about 30 years ago.

  2. How cute! I am sure I had something like this when I was little. I shall recommend to my friend who has a little one that loves cars x

  3. Hi Jayne, there’s nothing like a backseat driver to help a journey pass quickly, especially one with access to their own horn! This backseat driver toy does seem the perfect distraction and the price is reasonable too.

  4. When I was kid I was desperate for something like this and my mum couldn’t find anything. She ended up making me one out of cardboard!! So glad they do these now! xx
