Building Maths Skills With 7ate9 Game

I know only too well how hard it can be to keep the children entertained when we are all staying at home. There is only so much TV you can take and it is difficult to balance screen time. Games have been our go-to for keeping entertained and we’ve recently been sent a games bundle from John Adams. The first game I am going to be sharing with you is 7ate9.

7ate9 Card Game Age 7+ Years

The rules are really simple. The pack of cards is divided equally between the players with one card face down in the centre of the playing surface.

Each card has a yellow number in the centre from one to ten and in the corner of each card is another number between one and three which you add or subtract from your playing card. So if the starting card is 2 and the sum in the corner is +/- 1, you would need a card that is either one or three.

There are no turns, you just turn each of your cards over one by one until you find a card that you can play. When somebody plays a card, they shout out the new number. It sounds really simple but you have to keep up with each new card as it is played, as the card you are searching for changes each turn.

This game is so easy to pick up and play. It is truly great fun for all of the family. My eldest is 9 and found this easy to play. Younger children could also play if they have a basic understanding of adding and subtracting.

7ate9 is great for improving quick arithmetic in children, learning through play is usually the quickest way to pick up new skills.

The game comes in a robust egg-shaped case which holds all 73 playing cards along with the instructions. This makes 7 ate 9 perfect as a travel game as well as a fantastic boredom buster at home.
