With Autumn fast approaching, we are making a start on the Autumnal crafts. I love Autumn. Crunchy leaves, crisp morning air, hot chocolate, getting cosy in front of an open fire, it’s awesome isn’t it?
As I love how easy pom pom crafts are I thought I would make a pumpkin garland for halloween. If you enjoy simple crafts like these then you may want to check out my pom pom rug too.
What you will need

Orange wool
Pom Pom maker/Handmade cardboard version
Pipe cleaners
Scissors
First I made the pom poms. if you are not familiar with one of these makers, they are really easy to use. they open out so you can cover each side with your desired amount of wool. They then simply clasp together as you can see below. Take some smaller scissors to cut around the outside and it is now ready to tie your length of wool around. Make sure you leave a suffiecient amount of wool as you will be using this to secure your pom pom to the garland.

Once you have done that, take your little pipe cleaner. I cut mine to roughly 6cm. Place it on top and tie a knot with your wool. Twist the pipe cleaner together and bend over the tip just slightly.

Then secure to your string. If you don’t have string just use some of your wool instead. I only needed 5 pom poms to complete my garland. It obviously depends on where you plan on hanging it. If you are using a mantle piece then 5 will be plenty.

wow, this takes me back to my childhood, but then we just used 2 rings of cardboard
Great fun and might well have a go at this even if a little late
