An upholstered headboard on a double divan bed

Things have been a little chaotic here lately. Work has been busy, and I can’t complain about that, I’m always happy to be busy on that front, but it’s all go!
Homeschooling goes on as normal, and my eldest has been very poorly over the past 8 months. We are now facing some major tests at the hospital this week to confirm his diagnosis (all under general) so that’s stressful.
Our eldest dog Bruce is poorly and our young pup really should have an ASBO! He’s a full-time job on his own.
So believe me, when bedtime rolls around, I am more than ready for it!

Planning A Mini Makeover In Our Bedroom

Our bedroom is one of my favourite places to chill out. With all of the above going on, I make the most of the time I get to spend in there.
As it’s a place to relax, I like it to be as decluttered as possible and nice and airy. We have enough stuff stored around the house, but my bedroom is out of bounds for a dumping ground!
With that said, it’s been a while since our bedroom has had a revamp, so with spring in the air it has given me a bit of motivation to get started.

Choosing The Right Bed

The bed is the most important thing to me when it comes to making the bedroom comfortable and cosy. A cheap, poorly built bed = A poor night’s sleep.
That is why I have chosen Simba for our new bed. Crafted with care and attention to detail, Simba bedframes are built to withstand the test of time, providing a sturdy foundation for countless nights of restful sleep.
I love that Simba has a wide range of options to suit your personal style and bedroom decor. I have chosen the Ludlow Bed frame in Peacock which will give a gorgeous pop of colour amongst the cream and neutral tones that I currently have.
We also wanted some extra storage so I’ve opted for an ottoman base which will be super handy!

My review will be following shortly so you can see it for yourself.

Some New Accessories

I’ve already got quite a few cushions, but I have bought some new ones which are much plumper than some of my existing ones.
A few of my duvet sets also needed replacing, so I’ve bought some new ones to make the space look fresh.

Greenery

One of my spider plants has lots of baby shoots so I’ve transferred them into individual pots. Once they are strong enough, I will replant a couple and add some greenery to the bedroom. I love houseplants and spider plants are good oxygenators too!

Rearrange The Furniture

Just by having a little move around, I think it can really give a fresh feel to a room. Also, it doesn’t cost a penny! So I’m going to rearrange the units and I may even have away with the bedsides and get some floating shelves instead.

I’m looking forward to brightening up our bedroom and will be posting an update shortly on how it went.

Do you have any home improvement plans?

  1. I’ve been debating a very small bedroom makeover of my own; just some new curtains and bedding and pillows.. it’s been years since we’ve done our bedroom and I swear those room darkening shades aren’t working as well (and are a bit sun bleached in spots besides!).

  2. I’m using my move as a place to re-imagine all the rooms. They look similar to my old home but fresher. Good luck with your revamp – I’m looking forward to seeing the photos. #MMBC

  3. I hope all goes well with your eldest, the poor lad. Sending love and hugs.
Our bedroom could do with a makeover or a massive declutter. It is just a dumping ground at the moment.
That bed looks so good, it is a fantastic idea to have storage underneath.
