I love this time of the year. The brighter mornings, the windows being open again, everything starting to grow in the garden, it just makes you want to freshen things up a bit.
After months of leaning into softer, neutral tones, I found myself wanting to bring in some prettier colours again. I wanted our bedroom to feel lighter and more summery, something that reflects what’s happening outside in the garden at the moment.
A Little Colour Inspiration
Before changing anything, I found myself drawn to the same colours over and over again. All those soft pinks, fresh greens and warm tones you see in the garden when everything’s just starting to bloom.

Going a Little Bolder with Pattern
I also came across a tip from interior designer Linda Barker that really stuck with me. She suggests that in smaller spaces, it’s actually better to go bolder with pattern rather than playing it safe.
It’s definitely easy to fall into the trap of keeping everything quite plain, especially in a bedroom, but she talks about how larger, more expressive prints can actually make a space feel more intentional and full of personality. And that makes sense.
The Linda Barker Collection is a perfect example of how pattern can work beautifully within the home.

The Easiest Way to Refresh a Bedroom
For me, the quickest win is always bedding. It completely changes how the room feels without having to move furniture around or redecorate.
When I came across this Furn Meadow Escape Duvet Cover, it instantly reminded me of those same colours, greens, pinks, and the soft, brushstroke-style patterns that feel a bit like a wildflower meadow.
It doesn’t feel busy, it just adds a bit more interest, and I love how light and summery the whole room feels now.
A Brighter Space
Swapping out heavier winter bedding for something a bit lighter has made such a difference. The room feels fresher and brighter, and it’s one of those small changes that ends up having a bigger impact than you expect.
This wasn’t a big makeover or anything like that, just a simple summer bedroom refresh, but it’s made the room feel much more in tune with everything going on outside.
Sometimes that’s all you need.

Do you like colourful/patterned bedding, or do you prefer neutral tones?
I love these colours! I would definitely use that duvet for my bed.
I like the pretty bed. It looks like spring to me. I’ve always loved pink which most people avoid. #MMBC
