With Christmas out of the way and all of the decorations packed away for another year, it always seems to leave the home feeling bare. So what better time to give your home a revamp and it won’t cost you the earth! Take a look at some of these easy tips to get a new look on a budget.
Print Your Own Wall Art
This is the most easiest of all tips to funk up a room. You don’t need to be a budding artist, or a tech guru to achieve this. I used Pic Monkey to make these simple prints and put them in existing frames I had.
You could even use one of your favourite photos and have it framed inside a 3d acrylic photo block. This is such a beautiful way to display your fond memories around the home.
Upcycle Your Existing Furniture
We recently gave the downstairs toilet a lick of paint and added the mosaic splash back. With it being quite a small space, I thought a nice big mirror would give it more depth, so I used an old pine mirror. I got a little tester tub of paint from B&Q which was under £2.00 and now we have a mirror that ties in perfectly with the room.
Make A Feature Wall
The perfect way to brighten up a room is to create a colourful focal point. This could be a wallpapered wall or chimney breast.

Have A Move Around
It’s surprising how you can transform a room just by having a little move around with your furniture. I change mine quite often and you can create loads more space.
Change Colour Scheme
Another simple way to change the look of a room without paying against the odds, is to inject a different colour scheme. A perfect example would be the kitchen. You could change the colours of your accessories for a fresh new look. You could even change the style of your theme, say you have stainless steel accessories, you could swap those for country style accessories for a total new theme.
Make Your Own Soft Furnishings
With our house being quite a big barn conversion, we have quite a few windows to dress and none are average sizes with it being an old building, so they have to be custom made. However making them ourselves would save an absolute fortune, so that’s what we did! We went to a fabric shop and bought this lovely fabric and made some curtains, recovered an old lamp shade and made some cushion covers with what we had left over.
So there you have it!

I think wall art makes such a difference to the look of a room and I’m all for moving around furniture. I don’t think I am ever 100% happy with the way that things look in my flat x

I love the photo collage and this is on my list to do next month. This week I bought some fabric and made some beanbag cushions for my daughter. They are so expensive to buy but I made them at a fraction of the cost. Love changing things up for hardly any money.

These are great ideas, I love the idea of printing out your own wall art! I am hoping to get some room changed round this spring and want to change some of the wall colours, I think a simple coat of paint can really help change a room!
I love a photo gallery wall but I found it was much harder to pull off than I’d expected! I faffed and faffed with mine for a year and a half before we finally finished it – I just couldn’t decide what position I wanted everything in! I wanted it to look random but put together (which I suspect was my stumbling block – that’s quite a difficult brief!)
We just redecorated out bedroom, we painted one wall, added a feature and a mirror and now it looks completely different all for under £50. We recently repainted the wall in our dining room and put up some wall stickers and that came in at under £50 too. IT’s amazing what you can achieve on a budget!
