Picture Show Fun

We’ve been playing more family games this week! We’ve been playing Brainbox Dinosaurs, which is a dinosaur-themed memory game. Needless to say, my eldest dinosaur fan beats us hands down at this every single game!
This week we have been playing Picture Show.

Picture Show Age 7+ Years

Picture Show is quite different from the majority of the games we have played. This game comes with a little screen where you act out card proposals for your teammates to try and guess.

Setting Up Picture Show

Assembly is really easy by simply following the included guide. You simply build the pillars for the lights and clip the screen to the pillars. Will also need 3 x AAA batteries which are not included.

How To Play

Team play

First split players into two teams and then decide if you are playing with red, blue or yellow card proposals.

The screen is placed in the middle of the table and the spotlight behind it. Make sure that the room you play in is dimly lit or you won’t get the full effect of the shadows.
Place the sticks and shapes in a pile next to it and turn the spotlight onto position 2.

Each team designates one person to be The Master of Shadows. This person picks up the first card and turns the spotlight on.  Then they have to create the proposal using the shapes to make a shadow. As soon as a player guesses the proposal correctly, the Shadow Master then has to draw a new card continue to play before the spotlight goes out.

When the spotlight starts to flash this indicates that there are only 10 seconds left so you have to get a move on!
The team with the most cards at the end of 3 rounds wins.

Two Players

For two players you play in cooperative mode and each player is Shadow Master 5 times. The same rules as the team play apply to this mode also.

Training Mode

You can practice for as long as you like on training mode as the spotlight stays on.

Making shadows

Creating shadows is quite easy using your sticks and the magnetic shapes to hold up to the screen. You can overlap several shapes to create one.
You could even add your own proposals for more fun!

We really liked Picture Show. It encourages creativity and allows little ones to unleash their imagination. A great all-round family game!
