We have been extremely fortunate to have been sent a 10th Anniversary edition of Oliver Jeffers How to Catch a Star Childrens Book. It came in a lovely presentation box with lots of goodies and activity sheets for Monkey to have fun with.
The story of the book came about when Oliver Jeffers was sitting on the pier of a fish market, counting the starfish around the poles. He caught the reflection of a star in the water. This reminded him of the story The moon in the Mill Pond, which inspired him to draw a sketch of someone trying to catch a star. His collection of drawings began to grow. Before long he had achieved enough to make a picture book, which he proceeded to do and successfully had his book published.
How to catch a falling star has a lovely easy to follow story line. It is ideal for children from 2-7 Years. It has vibrant attractive illustrations and an enchanting storyline which my Monkey loved!
Monkey especially enjoyed the puppets which he could use to interact with as the story was read.
