*Disclosure – This is not a sponsored post or collaboration. We simply love this park and wanted to share our time there with you!
We always try to have a last little break before the manic Christmas rush. We try to time it for the middle of October, just before the half-term break. This way the resort facilities are all still open but it is usually a little quieter, allowing us to sightsee and have as much fun as we can. We are massive fans of Haven Greenacres site in North Wales and have been here many times in the past.
Our Home For The Week

We chose a Prestige Caravan, newer model, for our stay this time and we were really impressed with how light and airy this one was. We had a three-bedroom, eight birth caravan which had plenty of room for all of us.

The living room was super cosy with plenty of space. It had a large TV with DVD player, BlueTooth sound system and a lovely electric fire which had loads of cool lighting effects.

The kitchen and diner were open plan and had everything that we needed for a week-long stay. We even cooked a roast dinner on Sunday!
The bedrooms were all light and airy with the main bedroom having a TV.
Beach Fun
One of our favourite things about Greenacres is the fact that you can walk through to Black Rock Sands (my favourite UK beach). The sun made a very welcome appearance for a couple of days while we were away and we made the most of getting down to the beach to explore the rock pools and burn off a little energy.

We all played in the sand, paddled in the sea, searched for shells and explored the rock pools. Before we treated ourselves to an ice cream, we all took turns with the kite.

The Onsite Entertainment

Who doesn’t love an arcade at the beach? The two penny machines have always been a firm favourite, but now Jayden is interested a lot more in his gaming machines. Joben thought that the mechanical horse racing was much more fun though!

There is also the Mash and Barrel restaurant where you can get some really tasty food and perhaps a cheeky pint!
The mini-market is in the same facility and great if you need something at the last minute or like to fetch the paper in the morning, but like all parks, it can be a little expensive if you need a fair bit. We use the local Tesco to top up our shop whilst there.
Also on site is an indoor swimming pool and a laundrette. You have everything you could possibly need right on your caravan doorstep!
Ffestiniog

We have been on many different heritage railways in North Wales in the past, but we had never been on the Ffestiniog railway before. The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways both run from Porthmadog. The Ffestiniog railway runs off along the cob so it feels like you are travelling across the sea, before winding inland to Blaenau Ffestiniog.

The scenery is truly amazing with cascading waterfalls, mountains, pastures and small villages.
Our boys absolutely loved it!

The last couple of days absolutely poured down but that didn’t stop us. Being lovers of the outdoors we just suited and booted for the occasion and went with it!

And just look at that beautiful sunset!

Until next year Greenacres, you’ve been a blast!

Looks like you had everything your family could need for a great vacation – lovely cottage, the beach, games – looks like a perfect place for the kids! #MMBC
Beautiful! I especially love the look of that railway journey, though beachlife is hard to beat as well 🙂 xx #MMBC
Beautiful! I especially love the look of that railway journey, though beach-time is always a firm favourite for us too 🙂 xx #MMBC
I think we might take an autumn break next year. It must be wonderful to have so much to do and no crowds. Your break away looks like it was fab and very relaxing. #mmbc
That looks absolutely stunning! I love getting away in the fall too before it gets too crazy. #MMBC
Oh this is fabulous. I’ve been watching the Shane Richie series where he visits caravan parks and I am so interested in taking my two. I went years ago in my teens and absolutely loved it. I’m off now to look at Greenacres website. Thank you for sharing Jayne and so happy you all had so much fun x

What a gorgeous place to stay!
The caravan looks great. There really was plenty of room.
It looks like you had plenty of fun too. The kite flying looks fab x
That looks so fun! We try to vacation in the “off” season as much as we can.
Your photos look fabulous. Especially the ones outside where you weren’t put off by the weather. It looks a great place to holiday. A nice variety to keep the boys entertained too. #MMBC
It sounds like you had a fabulous break. We’ve been to The Haven Park in Weymouth and would recommend that one too :o)
Looks like a proper family holiday doing lots of very traditional and timeless activities. Lovely photographs too. You brought back fond memories of lovely Wales and also train rides when mine were much smaller. Lovely spacious caravan but personally found the colours a little plain but then I like vibrant colours. #MMBC
We love Haven Greenacres, we have been many times. We also enjoy Hafan y Mor not too far from that one.
We visited North Wales last year, it was gorgeous, although I was a bit disappointed as the weather was too bad to take the train up Mount Snowdon. We also visited Weymouth in Dorset where we stayed in a lovely caravan. Caravan holidays are such fun.
This sounds like proper British holiday fun! The caravan looks like a palace too! #MMBC
Beautiful Wales! It looks like you had a great time 🙂 #MMBC

This looks like an amazing holiday! We love Wales and Haven so this would be somewhere we would look into going. The railway looks amazing, and lots of outdoorsy stuff to do. Thanks for the fantastic review! Xx
I am always looking for new places to visit and this is one of the best caravans I have seen, so I think I shall be inquiring about a stay.
I’ve visited Greenacres several times, it’s my park of choice when holidaying in North Wales, the coastal walk into Porthmadog is stunning
Lovely to hear of new parks and sites to take the kids too.
Looks like you’ve all had a beautiful time. Will add it to my visit list
It sounds like a wonderful experience.
