One thing I wish my husband and I did more of prior to settling down, is travel. There are so many beautiful places around the world to see. Don’t get me wrong, having our little family doesn’t change a thing and as the boys get a little older, the further we will be able to venture. But we didn’t have a honeymoon as such after we married. We were already expecting our first child, and having just moved into our new home funds were extremely tight! Now I wouldn’t dream of holidaying anywhere without my two beautiful mini me’s beside me. So here are my dream holiday destinations that I think make the perfect retreat for couples, but me and my clan, well, we will be sunning it up somewhere on the south coast!
Cuba
Surrounded by fantastic beaches and clear blue waters, Cuba is a place I have always wanted to visit. It is rich in culture, the weather is amazing and the sunsets are breathtaking. Havana would be a must-see on my list. Watching those vintage Chevrolets cruise by whilst sitting back on a sunny hazy day, sipping at some beautiful rum concoction. Oh, take me there now!

Dubai
For a more lavish and indulgent break, I think Dubai is certainly a location to consider. There is so much to see and do there. With pristine beaches for the sun lovers, a stunning city to shop until you drop in designer boutiques and be wined and dined in the finest restaurants that Dubai has to offer. A perfect place to explore together on a honeymoon perhaps?

Mauritius
The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa in Mauritius is another location that I long to visit one day. Those golden beaches and majestic palms, it really is like having your own little piece of paradise isn’t it?! Plenty of lazy days on the beach soaking up the gorgeous views whilst eating something delicious at a beachside restaurant. And not forgetting a refreshing spa treatment or a relaxing massage. It really is a fantastic way to relax and receive some much needed pampering.
If you are feeling really lavish you could hire a private jet for a romantic getaway. Ever wondered what the cost of a private jet is? If you’re smart with it and are able to find an empty leg flight to take advantage of, the cost can be not too dissimilar to a first-class ticket on a commercial flight, so it’s definitely worth looking into!
Do you have a favourite place to recommend for couples? Perhaps you had the best honeymoon?
