We may all be slightly guilty of being a little scared of visiting the doctor. I think personally that men are much more scared than us women! Sorry lads but it’s the truth! Nobody enjoys sitting in a doctors surgery talking about intimate problems such as erectile dysfunction, but when you consider the potential causes include High blood pressure, Heart disease, diabetes, Parkinson’s disease and even Multiple Sclerosis. Surely a little embarrassment is a small price to pay in order to get to the bottom of your problem?
More men die from prostate cancer each year now than women from breast cancer! There are so many sources of information and studies available to showcase how much more effective treatment is against not just cancer, but any condition if you can be diagnosed early. So it really is in everyone’s best interest to get to your doctor as soon as you possibly can.
Seek Professional Advice
It is not always easy to get to the doctor. Appointments are hard to come by and it is difficult to find the time in our busy schedules to manage to fit in a visit to the G.P. Fortunately, there are more ways than one to get advice on your condition. NHS UK operates the 111 telephone service, a freephone number that you can call to explain your symptoms and a healthcare professional will advise you on the best course of action to take. LloydsPharmacy is a new service which allows you to complete online questionnaires which are then reviewed by a clinician, and you can then click and collect your treatment locally. From contraception to hair loss treatment, all without having to discuss anything face to face!
So there really is no reason to suffer in silence. There are so many ways to get help, no matter how embarrassed you are and they have most probably seen it all before!
