When In Rome – The New Alexa Board Game

When In Rome – The New Alexa Board Game

Since my husband got me an Amazon Echo Smart Speaker I have used it almost constantly. I absolutely love Alexa. She keeps the household organised, she lets me know what the traffic is like if I have to travel, she plays all of my favourite tunes whilst I clean the house, she plays games with us and even tells us jokes, (quite cheesy ones mind!).

When I was recently sent the new When In Rome game and was told that it worked alongside Alexa, I couldn’t wait to give it a try!

Alexa Powered When In Rome Board Game Age 13 yrs+

When In Rome is a travel trivia game which was made by the genius folk from Beasts Of Balance creators, Sensible Object. the board comes in two pieces and connects together like a jigsaw. I love this, as it means you can take this along to the caravan or on a short break somewhere without it taking up any room.

Players are split up into two teams. You then both travel around the 20 cities, meeting friendly locals on the way who will ask you questions about their city. On your turn, you get a choice of two different multiple choice questions to answer. One easy question worth three points and a more difficult one worth five points.

I love how they have used actual locals who dwell in the cities that you visit. It makes the game so much more realistic this way and feels so much more interactive like you are actually there with them.

There are souvenirs to collect around the board. If you land in a city with a souvenir and you answer your question correctly, you get to keep the souvenir and the local will tell you a little story of how you came across it!

You also get 14 upgrade cards which can be gained if you win a head to head round. They have various perks which you can use throughout the game.

When in Rome is absolutely awesome and a perfect game to get the whole family involved. The age group does recommend age 13+ but my eldest at just 8 answered more questions correctly than us! I love anything that associates with Alexa, because it generally means it can be upgraded over time and has the capability to create lots of expansions packs and different versions.

Also just released from the same people is Wordmine, a new word anagram game that’s free to play on the Amazon Echo. To find out more visit Voice Originals.

Sound very interesting, I presume you can learn a thing or two about the city?
Wouldn’t it be great if you can request a city venture to,like if you were going on holiday to that place !
