If you have popped by recently then you will have seen our recent bathroom renovation. We are doing up our little cottage room by room and it’s finally starting to transform into our little dream home. This week we have been adding the Matalan bathroom accessories to finish off the look.

Adding The Finishing Touches To Our Bathroom Renovation

With the bathroom being so small, there isn’t any space for my towels so I thought the best solution was to fit a towel rail. There is a cupboard in my son’s room where the rest of the towels are stored and I just keep refilling the towel holder when need be.

The towels we chose are these lovely Egyptian Cotton Towels in grey. They are super soft and feel really good quality towels. I have found that they wash really well too so with the number of bathtimes we have, I know they will stand the test of time.

Our Rib Pile Bath Mat is just the right size (80cm x 50cm) to pop by the side of the bath. The pile is surprisingly thick and your feet just sink into it! With bathroom additions like these, I’ve begun exploring natural bathroom cleaning methods to keep everything looking fresh.

When we were planning the bathroom I wanted a natural spa-like feel to it. I didn’t want lots of chintz just a minimal clean earthy theme so when I saw this beautiful artificial Lavender in a cement pot I knew it would fit in perfectly.

I am really pleased with the finishing touches and I think the beauty with shopping at Matalan is that the products are all good quality but don’t break the bank, so you can achieve a luxury finish for a fraction of the price.

  1. Love that lavender! Matalan is such good value for things like this. We’re just starting a complete bathroom refit and I’m looking forward to finally getting to decorate it.

  2. Your bathroom is looking lovely, the accessories make all the difference. I like the towel rail, and I love egyptian cotton towels, I think I may have to get some grey ones. The plant fits in just perfectly.

  3. What a great way to hang towels, Jayne. It’s really the small details that make the bathroom look interesting, like the plant placement and the wall decor. I would definitely take note of these on how to make a small bathroom look bigger.
