Toot The Tiny Tugboat – Toot To The Rescue
We have recently been checking out Toot To The Rescue on the Toot The Tiny Tugboat App, over on iTunes.
Thud Media and Lupus Films have partnered to launch the third in a series of children’s apps based on popular Channel 5 and Cartoonito pre-school series Toot the Tiny Tugboat.
The storybook app Toot to the Rescue lets young readers enjoy an interactive tale with characters from the series where they can read along with the narrator as the action unfolds.
Featuring games, events and animated elements, the app brings to life a new and original storyline, written by the series head writer Ian Carney, providing users aged 3 to 6 with an engaging and entertaining reading experience.

It really is a lovely little app. It is very flexible to meet individual needs. Older children who are more confident readers can choose to ‘read by myself’ and younger bookworms like my little man can use the ‘read to me’ function. It has vibrant interactive scenes where at the touch of the finger, will activate characters voices and prompts.

It is free from advertising so no pesky pop ups whilst you are engaged with the app. And there are no in app purchases, what you see is what you get.
The app also has a dual language feature which allows the story to be read in English or Welsh, and the text is highlighted word by word as it is narrated, aiding reading and language learning. There is an added educational angle in that the app also teaches children about water safety.

Little man really enjoyed the story even though the recommended age is older than him, but having stories read to him on a daily basis makes it familiar for him to sit and listen to what is happening, (unless we get a bit distracted). He sat attentively throughout this which is quite remarkable for him.

Did we like the app?……

I think his little face says it all.
If you want to give it a go with your budding readers then you can purchase it for £2.99 over on the iTunes app store.
Toot is also available in these lovely pj’s from George Asda from £8.00.

And finally the fab Milkshake magazine only £3.49 an Issue. Packed full of fun activities, freebies and competitions.

And of course regularly stars Toot.

Is your little one a Toot fan?
Aww! Your little man seems to be having a great time with it…What a cutie x
Aw thanks Kim 🙂
It’s a really fun app x
Aw I love this, mine used to love watching the tug boats at work in the harbour towns down here. #TriedTested
It really is a pleasant little app, with lots to interact with.
Thanks for popping by.
Hi Jayne, this app is a bargain for £2.99. It’s interactive, looks fun and colourful and if it teaches children a little about being safe near water that’s a bonus. The PJ’s look bright and fun too.
xx
Hi Debs, it is great value.
And very engaging for little ones too.
Thanks for popping by lovely x
Toot has passed us by – I think probably as we’ve mainly stuck to Cbeebies programming. It looks really cute though.
Thanks for sharing your review on #TriedTested this week x
Yes we too are normally Cbeebies fans, so it was refreshing to try this out.
Thanks for commenting 🙂
