Spending time in London, whether for work or leisure, can allow you to see some of the sights associated with the capital city. Among these can be the renowned River Thames that flows through the heart of the city. Should you have some spare time around your other excursions or commitments, you may want to think about taking a relaxing boat ride. It can be important to ensure you have some essentials in your handbag or backpack, to make the experience even more enjoyable.

A set of sunglasses

Even when the day seems somewhat dull, light can reflect off the water of the Thames and impede your vision. Rather than simply accepting this to be the case, you might want to think about looking through this range of Ray-Ban sunglasses for something that suits you. Wearing sunglasses can prevent this glare from affecting you, allowing you to still see clearly. Should the weather be extremely pleasant, these could also help to protect your eyes from damage from the sunlight which could, over a period of time, contribute to you developing cataracts. When not wearing them, you could simply put them into their case and back in your bag.

RFID blocking wallet

Many cities have their scams and criminals and, sadly, London is the same. While you may face some of the more common methods of thievery, such as sellers peddling fake goods or sneaky pickpockets reaching in to grab items from your bag, your finances may still be in danger even if they don’t leave your person. Having an RFID blocking wallet could be a good idea. While contactless payments can be useful, they may also leave you vulnerable to theft, as people may not need to touch the card or gain access to a PIN to get your money. This type of wallet can protect you by not allowing those signals to take place.

Something for sickness

Some people may suffer from travel sickness. This doesn’t just occur when on a plane. It can also be problematic for those traveling on water too. Keeping some motion sickness medication and a bottle of water to hand can be helpful, especially if you are taking this trip with family. Even those who have never struggled with this kind of sickness before might find themselves feeling somewhat nauseous and unwell while on the water. When taking medication, you may want to avoid consuming alcohol. This could end up making you feel significantly worse.

Going on a boat trip down the river Thames can allow you to see a number of districts of London without having to worry about underground changes or busy traffic queues. Seeing the city from the water may also give you a different perspective on how it both looks and operates. You may be able to book ahead, or simply turn up and pay on the day. Either way, having some essentials in your handbag could help to make that trip a success.
