It was another hot one here. The weather seems to bring all the insects to the yard! Haha.
We’ve had our second wasps nest and anyone that knows me well, knows I hate wasps! Then we had some tree bees decide to take up residency at the side of our house where I hang the washing out. I don’t mind bumble bees so they were left well alone.
With that said, we noticed the bees were getting less and less, then we found out why. Hornets and lots of them coming and going and taking them from their nest.
It’s rural where we are, so it’s pitch black here at night, until our lights go on in the house that is! Then we get hornets banging off the windows, as they are attracted to the light.
I think I might go into hiding until winter! What have you been up to? Hopefully not being menaced by wasps and hornets.

We haven’t had too many wasps here and no hornets, but the bee numbers seem to decrease each year
Oh god! The wasps nest! I’ve still got PTSD from our last one. lol They are evil things! Aww! The poor bee’s, I like bees.

Oh no! Sounds like you are facing an unwanted battle! I’m never happy when I spot a wasp or hornet! I still remember when our daughter was about 3 or 4 and she was stung for the first time – she decided to pet the wasp! Never again! Thanks so much for highlighting our site, Jayne! We’re tickled! Thank you so much for featuring my bucket list post! We live near a lake and have lots and lots of mud wasps; they can build a rather large nest in no time and they are not fun to deal with. We also get white faced hornets that are just angry so I’ve learned to fear most wasps… but I am totally fine with bees too.
