Hi everyone and welcome to this week’s #MMBC. I hope your week went well. We celebrated my youngest boy’s birthday. Thankfully we managed to get his presents in time, no thanks to DPD and Smyths nearly ruining his birthday. We placed quite a big order online with Smyths, as work and appointments coming up made it quite tight to get to the store.
First DPD delivered it to the totally wrong address and then their app updated to ‘your parcel is out for delivery’ and then ‘your parcel is at our depot’. Smyths said they had opened up an investigation, but customer services then emailed me and said ‘We can see your parcel is on its way’ (it wasn’t). Then I spent another 2 days with no response from Smyths and more BS from DPD, only for us to end up going to the store anyway so that my little man had his presents in time!
Smyths finally answered my email and fulfilled my refund ‘As they could see I had returned the order’ even though it never came to our house?!
It was just shocking service from both parties. I miss the days when Toys R Us led the toy industry!
Anyway, after all of the drama, Joben had a lovely day so all ended well. Phew! Rant over.
What have you been up to?

Oh no! What a nightmare with Joben’s birthday presents. I am glad everything ended up OK in the end.
Thank you for hosting and have a great week. x
Thank you so much for the feature!
Sorry to hear you had so much delivery stress. I’m glad that everything worked out in the end. Happy Birthday to your son 🙂
Mail stress is real. We’ve had several crazy incidents too. Sometimes we never receive the item; other times we’ve received something twice. ha. I’ve become too dependent on assuming it will always be right. Speaking of, I should likely start Christmas orders soon to allow time for a few mishaps. 🙂
I’m glad Joben got his presents eventually, what a nightmare. I hope he had a wonderful birthday.
I hope your little one had a great birthday.
I am always after recipes and comfort food ideas. Thanks for the link.
