Morning, and welcome to this week’s #MMBC! I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend.
We’re desperately hoping for some rain here this week. We’ve had several wildfires around our local nature reserves and beauty spots now, and everything is just so dry. Apparently, some have been started deliberately by youngsters, while others have been linked to people taking disposable BBQs out with them. It honestly baffles me that anyone would even consider it when the ground is this dry! So much beautiful countryside is being destroyed, along with the poor wildlife that calls it home. Our garden is completely frazzled too, so fingers crossed the forecast is right, and we finally get a decent downpour.
On a happier note, we enjoyed a bit of time out last week, which was much needed. Jayden’s eye has also healed really well and has barely left a mark, thankfully. Thanks so much for all your lovely well wishes for him.
This week I’m busy getting a few bits sorted for Craig’s birthday, which is coming up soon. I’m not quite sure how these birthdays keep rolling around so quickly!
Anyway, what have you all been up to? Grab a cuppa and let’s have a catch-up.
Features of the Week
Ruth shared a lovely post about Hurstville Public School’s 150th anniversary. It was fab seeing her husband reminisce about his old school and seeing how much had changed over the years. What a milestone!
Melynda shared how she processes potatoes to reduce waste. There were some really handy tips for making potatoes last longer and getting the most out of what you buy, especially with how hot it’s been lately.
Have a lovely week, everyone. x 😊

Winner winner, chicken dinner!
Glad all is well with your son’s eye! Yes, wildfires are horrible and so easily set and spread in hot and dry weather and by himan carelessness. We went from drought ro flash flood weather conditions. Crazy summer this year!
I really hope you get some much-needed rain soon. It’s heartbreaking to think of all the wildlife affected by these fires. And how lovely to hear that Jayden’s eye has healed so well!
I hope you get a good soaking rain real soon!
We finally had a downpour of rain last night and it was fantastic but we could still do with some more.
That is great news that Jayden’s eye has healed really well. He was very lucky.
Aww! Happy birthday to Craig, the birthdays do seem to roll around so quickly!
What a relief to know (and see) that Jayden’s eye is healing so nicely! We also are praying for rain for you and so many communities that are feeling the impact of this summer’s wildfires. It’s been heartbreaking how easily they start and we all need to be vigilant in doing what we can to prevent them. Thanks so much for hosting us and encouraging us week in and week out, Jayne! Wishing Craig the happiest of birthdays ahead!
Jayne, thanks so much for the shout out! Except for today we too would love a good down pour, but today we are fixing a broken pipe….it’s always something! Take care and have a great week ahead!
That is scary. Keeping my fingers crossed for the much needed rain!
It was necessary to add my blog on a page with the logo for my site. It’s the Party & Guest page, you are featured there as well! I’ve been able to add my logo previously. Not sure what I did differently this time.
Thank you for hosting! I’ve shared #12. Off to visit the other guest links.
Have a fun week.
All the best.
