For as long as I can remember I have loved to draw and colour. What makes me super happy is that both of my boys seem to have inherited the same love of art. Give them some pencils and a sheet of paper and they are in their element, as most kids are.
Did you know that it’s that time of year again where the BIC® Kids Young Artists Awards are open for entries?
Fun Art Facts
The average child will produce more than 2,000 arts and crafts pieces for their parents before they turn 12, according to a study*. And those items tell the story of their childhood through art.
Researchers found the nation’s parents face an uphill struggle to find space for the masses of drawings, greeting cards and ceramics produced by their little ones.
The overwhelming majority (79 per cent) will display all of their kid’s creations at one time or another, with the fridge being the most popular place to exhibit them.
Submitting A Work Of Art To The BIC® Kids Young Artist Awards
This fabulous award is open for children aged 5 – 11-year-olds. All entrants are encouraged to get creative and let imaginations run wild.
Once their masterpiece is finished, parents can upload the picture to www.bickids.co.uk/youngartist. The deadline for entries is Sunday 4th August.
When all of the entries are in, BIC’s judges will choose one finalist from each region. Their artwork will then be used to display on billboards throughout the voting stage for all to see.
The 13 finalists will also receive a certificate and a bundle full of BIC® KIDS goodies including – BIC® KIDS Couleur Felt Tip Pens and BIC® KIDS Evolution Ecolutions colouring pencils.
