As I begin this post I can’t believe that you, my sweet baby boy, are one year old today. As I just finish filling my photobook for my baby boy, I wonder where the time has gone.
Twelve months have passed since you arrived in this world and nestled in my arms for the very first time. I was so emotional, not only because I was looking down at the most beautiful and precious little boy but your Daddy could actually be with us too. Daddy had his heart transplant 6 weeks previous and he was very vunerable to infection. But his care team made it possible for him to be by my side when you were ready to arrive.
You were our a miracle baby. We had tried 3 years to have you in our life but to no avail we had to seek help. We had our first consultation and then waited for the next appointment to come through for various tests etc. We never had to go back for the tests and didn’t get as far as IVF as it finally happened! we were expecting you! It was a miracle. Finally your Big Brother could look forward to meeting his new sibling. He was so excited. As you grew inside Mommy, Your Big Brother used to kiss you and talk into mommy’s tummy. It was really sweet to watch. I just knew the two of you would be best of friends.
You are such a happy little boy. ALWAYS smiling. I love how every morning when you wake, you wear the biggest grin for me. And the snuggles, oh the snuggles are the best.
We have been quite lucky really as you settled into a routine almost instantly. Ok there were a few occasions where I would long for a good night’s sleep, but having you made the tiring nights all worth while.
Your personality is shining bright and you are so confident around others. You check everybody out but it’s ok if you are a little unsure of some, as you have Mommy’s neck to hide your little face into for security (I love it when you do that).
You chat away with us all, I don’t think it will be long at all now until you start to say your words.
You are a beautiful little boy and you are our world. You enrich our little family with love, laughter and warmth.
