We love finding a good series to binge, especially in the evenings when everything’s finally done and we can actually sit down for an hour without being needed. We’ve watched a real mix lately. Some we were excited for, some we just randomly started, and a few that have completely surprised us. I always love hearing what other people are watching too, so if you’ve got any favourites, leave them in the comments because we’re always looking for something new to start.
Landman
If you haven’t started Landman yet, it’s all about the oil industry, big egos, and Billy Bob Thornton (who plays Tommy) being permanently grumpy in the middle of dusty Texas chaos. Angela, his ex-wife, is hilarious and probably my favourite character in the whole cast. Definitely worth a watch if you haven’t already.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
We loved Game of Thrones, so trying A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was a bit of a given. We’re only a few episodes in, but already completely drawn into it. The cast are brilliant, and Lord Lyonel Baratheon is so funny! He reminds me of Tyrion Lannister.
It definitely feels more light-hearted than Game of Thrones, with more humour woven in, but it hasn’t lost that gritty, believable world that makes it so realistic. So far so good!
Power Book IV: Force
LOVE this! We’ve watched every series in the Power universe and loved them all, and Power Book IV: Force is no exception. Tommy starts over in Chicago to build his own empire from scratch. He causes chaos everywhere he goes, but you can’t help rooting for him anyway. It still has that familiar Power energy, with loads of tension, strong characters, and plenty of moments where you realise Tommy is always about five steps ahead of everyone else.
Hijack Series 2
We watched the first series of Hijack and it was pretty good. The whole thing was set on a plane in real time, and Idris Elba played a great part.
Series 2 has moved onto a train this time, which gives it that same trapped, nowhere-to-go kind of feeling. We’re a few episodes in, and if I’m honest, I’m still deciding how I feel about it. I don’t dislike it, but I’m not fully hooked yet either. It’s one of those where I’m still watching, but waiting for the moment where it properly pulls me in, if that ever happens!

I’ve not heard of Landman, I will have to give that one a go. I am working my way through Game of Thrones again and I’m planning on watching A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms after! x
