Running a business from home sees me spending majority of my working day at my desk as many of you can probably relate. With a house move on the horizon, I will soon be planning my new work area (see how I’m already claiming a room all for me!) That’s priorities right there.
My Ideal Workspace
Organisation is key for me. I can’t work with a desk covered in crap. I like trays and files for my paperwork and holders to store my pens and highlighters. Although it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to hide them, as everybody helps themselves to them. I really want a pegboard and will probably use some Ikea fixtures to store things in, like some of the ideas you see on Pinterest. I love Pinterest!

I am wanting to update my desk, preferably to a dual-purpose desk where I can stand as well as sit. I spend so many hours at the desk, it makes sense to go for an option like this. I think good posture is another important factor when you look around for the best desk for your office, so it really is worth taking your time until you find one that you like.

I have one of those black leather look office chairs at the moment, but it takes up far too much room. I’ve never really liked it to be honest (somebody bought it for us). There are some nice cheap office chairs out there, so I am sure I will manage to choose something that fits in well with my theme.
Accessories
You just can’t have enough accessories! My favourite being pretty stationery. I am definitely more of a pen to paper kind of person. So I have plenty of notebooks and journals to keep me organised and there is always room for more in my collection.
I love quotes too, so a cheap way to decorate your space/office wall is to create your own quotes on website like PicMonkey. Here are two that I made in under 5 minutes.

Techy Stuff
I am very happy with my current DSLR camera so I won’t be needing a new one for some while. I do my blogging on my Mac and I love it! The best thing I ever did was to switch from PC to Mac. I do have a bit of a mix though when it comes to the keyboard, mouse and monitor, so my aim is to start saving the pennies and replace them with Apple ones.

So that’s my wish-list for my new office when we move, think I’d better get saving up fast!
Do you work from home? Do you have your own workspace or do you work from the sofa?
*This is a collaborative post*
Like me? Then why not pin for later?

I work from home some of the time and enjoyed setting up a desk area, though it’s not always that easy to actually sit down and work there!
I totally get that! I have to have a room to go to, because if I sit on the sofa with the laptop, I would end up watching TV instead, I’m so easily distracted 😉
I currently sit on my laptop at a my desk which is so cluttered!! I would love to have a neat office 🙂 x
Ooooh I am loving the peg board! I did recently make a little blogging corner and desk space for myself but I wouldn’t mind giving it a little refresh with some desk porn!
I would just love some desk space for myself, one day when my eldest leaves home I am going to transform his bedroom into a work/study place x
This is a must for me. I currently blog to the world on my laptop sat on my bed. I’d love a space like this. You have inspired me thank you. I am soooo into my stationery and organisation.
At the moment I’m sitting on an IKEA small step ladder as we have no office chair. It’s been driving me nuts but I can’t find a desk chair I actually like. The one we bought originally from IKEA the wheels didn’t move so it was useless on carpet. I want more storage in my desk area so I can get all the clutter off my desk.
I love looking at home offics there are some beautiful ones out there. The quote posters are fab x
Love the pics! I think the pegboard is my favourite.
I have a huge workspace wishlist! We recently moved our office to another room and yet it isn’t proving to be big enough for all the stuff I want! I’m thinking about rejuggling rooms again! Haha!
I wish I had an office space, sadly it is the sofa for me 🙁
Gorgeous ideas! I currently blog from our dining table lol! I’d love to have my own office but we don’t have the space. I would like to turn one corner of our dining room into an office area though at some point in the future x
My usual office space is dark and cramped so I camp about in the kitchen at the table where it’s lighter. All your ideas are making me want to brighten up my office space into all this loveliness. Elinor x
I have a whole pinterest board dedicated to desk porn haha. I have a dream office space in mind and I’m determined to get it. I love some of these. Especially all the white accessories. xx
I really want to re-do my office space when I get back the UK, and I just love buying accessories – can’t get enough of them!
I work in my lounge (currently with the laptop perched on my knee) and share the computer area with everyone else! I’d love an office/my own space
I work from home and I want that pegboard. It would be so useful here.
I too want a peg board for my mini home office but not got round to getting one. I think I need to change my chair too as the current one is not fit for purpose
Hi Jane, I’d love room for an office or even a quiet corner somewhere, but we don’t have the room, so I blog from the sofa. At work I pinched a hard wooden computer chair as I find it far more comfortable than those leather like chairs…. I do hope you get your dream office!
xx
It always makes a huge difference when the work space is nice and tidy but I find it hard most times with kids dumping everything on my desk, from felt tips to a lego brick! Peg board is a great idea.
Ohh! What gorgeous things…I just sit on my armchair with my laptop but I would love a little desk and a space of my own x #MMBC
I would love to have a workspace as clean and uncluttered as yours looks! I need to sort out a system so that everything is in its place (and find a way to stop my family dumping their stuff on the desk too!) 🙂
#MMBC
I have my desk for blogging and studying and can’t work if there is any clutter. Luckily I’m the only one who uses it 🙂 Shame the rest of the room is like a Chinese laundry though!
