Using your child’s favourite interest to learn is a powerful educational strategy that taps into their natural curiosity and enthusiasm. When children are passionate about a particular subject or activity, they become highly motivated and engaged in the learning process. I have used this way of learning with both of my kids and it makes learning much more fun!
Whether it’s dinosaurs, (like our themed count and write worksheet) animals, superheroes, or art, incorporating these interests into various subjects helps children see the relevance of what they are learning, making it more relatable and far more likely to keep their attention for much longer, which is something I found with my youngest son who is autistic.
