Meal planning for families.

Another week another meal plan! I don’t know where the days are going. Last week’s dinners were made by using up batch meals that we had in the freezer.  We had a large amount of bolognese so I made lasagne, a cottage pie, stuffed some bell peppers and roasted them, then added some beans and chilli to the last bit for some burritos. I broke that up with a few salads mid-week.

Monday

Jacket potatoes topped with chilli and cheese. I will most probably do the boys cheese and ham topped spuds because they dislike chilli.

Tuesday

Flaky Pastry Pesto Chicken Parcels. These taste amazing! I’ve used green pesto in the past but we have recently been using Filipo Berio Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto which tastes so much better.

Wednesday

Slimming World southern style chicken with sweet potato fries. A bit of a KFC fakeaway.

Thursday

Cheese and bacon kievs with salad. I’m enjoying more and more salads with the weather being warmer. They are nice and quick to prep on busy days and that’s mostly every day in our house.

Friday

Steak, chips and onion rings.  I ordered some steak on the shopping. Craig is slowly getting back into work so I thought it would be a nice end of the week treat.

Saturday

BBQ food. It’s been ages since we had a bbq and now our garden’s coming along I thought it would be nice to sit out and have our dinner.

Sunday

Toad in the hole. We haven’t had this in the longest time! I love mine smothered in gravy, but the gravy has to be thick. Do you prefer your gravy thick or do you like it better runny?

  1. We’re eating a lot more salads this week, we have homegrown lettuce in the garden so it’s lovely to just go out and pick them when we feel like it. Enjoy your toad in the hole – it’s a favourite here too 🙂

Good luck to Craig with the return to work.
Ohh! It has to be thick gravy. I think it’s just a waste if it’s watered down. x
