We have lots of exciting things planned for this year and have already written our bucket list! But one thing that I had noticed was that I had missed visiting the theatre. It has been so long since we went to see a show. I made myself a cuppa and browsed online and have seen lots of shows that all of the family would love. Best-Tickets have so many shows to choose from, so if you are planning to watch something with the family this year, you may like some of the following shows I have found.
Billionaire Boy
Billionaire Boy is a musical for all of the family to enjoy. This show is based on the children’s book written by David Williams, who we are big fans of! Jayden has quite the collection of his books now.
Lenth of performance – 2hours 10 minutes.
Age – Under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult.
Venues – Liverpool Empire Theatre, Palace Theatre Manchester, Edinburgh Playhouse and Bristol Hippodrome Theatre.
Dates from 27th May – 24th October.
Aladdin Pantomime
Aladdin is another one of our favourites and you can see this come to life in pantomime from November. Quite close to Christmas this one so it would be a nice treat for the whole family.
Age 6+ years.
Performance time – 135 minutes.
Venue – Lyric Hammersmith Theatre London.
Dates from 20th November – 3rd Jan 2021
Disney On Ice
I have heard so many good reviews about this one and think my youngest would really enjoy this. He would love to see his favourite Disney characters skating on the ice rink I’m sure.
Age – All ages
Performance time -1.5 – 2 hours
Venues – Wembley Arena London and Resorts World Arena Birmingham.
Dates from 2nd April – 3rd May
Horrible Histories Barmy Britain
My eldest loves Horrible Histories. He has a sense of humour to match it and loves all things gross! Horrible Histories Barmy Britain Part 5 is not just educational but will have everyone in fits of laughter.
Age 3+ years.
Performance time – 1 hour 10 minutes
Venue – Apollo Theatre London
Dates from 30th July – 29th August
The Tiger Who Came To Tea
If you are a parent then the chances are you have probably read this book to your child at some point. We love the storybook and can’t believe that it has been around for 50 years now! And 10 years of being performed on stage. I think this will be a magical show that little ones will be immersed in from the very beginning.
Age – 3+ years
Performance time – 55 minutes
Venues -Princess Theatre Torquay and Theatre Royal Haymarket London.
Dates from 29th April – Sep 6th
In The Night Garden
In The Night Garden has been a firm favourite in our house for years. Both of my boys have loved growing up with the magical woodland and all of its fun characters.
Age – All ages
Performance time – 1 hour
Venues -New Theatre Oxford and The Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham.
Dates from – 9th May – 28th June.
Kidz Bop World Tour
You may be familiar with Kidz Bop being all over the TV lately.
Venue – Liverpool Empire Theatre
Date – 10th April.

Sigh. I can’t wait to take my kids to the theatre. My favourite theatre production had to be Wicked and Lion King but of course we will start with Peppa Pig or Disney on Ice. Great list though
Great shows. We went to see Frozen The Musical this year and that was amazing. There a few here we would love to see as a family when we can.
