As a family of four, I try to make a conscious effort that we all have a well-balanced diet. Ok, the kids have their treats and snacks like all kids, but I do try to balance it out by including something that contributes to our 5 a day.
Goodlife make delicious vegetarian meals where the ingredients are sourced from some of the most dedicated UK farmers. Working closely together for 25 years they have produced an amazing range of foods free from artificial colours and flavours. They have a little something for all of the family and me and my brood have been testing them out.
Falafel with Chickpea, Cumin & Coriander
I wasn’t sure about these prior to trying them. I’m not a fan of hot and spicy foods you see and thought these were going to be ‘great balls of fire’ haha! To my surprise, they were not. They are really flavoursome and have a nice crispy outer with a moist inner texture. You get a decent portion too, with 14 falafels per box.
Mushroom & Spinach Kiev with a Creamy Garlic & Cheese Sauce
These kievs are soooo good! They taste absolutely amazing and definitely a family favourite. Filled with mushrooms and spinach and a cheesy garlic sauce to die for! Each one is bursting with bold flavours in a delicious crunchy breadcrumb coating.
French Bean & Spinach Sausages with Wensleydale Cheese
Another plate licked clean after sampling these cheesy sausages. They are packed with french beans, peas, spinach and Wensleydale. Although the cheese is not as pungent as the kievs, they still taste great all the same.
Vegetable Masala with Cauliflower Rice Ready Meal
Who said ready meals are bland? This veggie masala was another one of my favourites. I was quite curious if the cauliflower rice would go well with the masala, as I’m used to using your average grain rice when coupled up with a curry. But I quite liked the cauliflower combo! It also contains sweet potatoes which I love, so another win for me. The sauce consists of coconut milk, peppers and tomatoes and tastes sweet and creamy.
The Goodlife range gets a big thumbs up from us. If you are thinking of reducing the amount of meat in your diet or simply want to try something different, then you can buy these meals and more from Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Morrisons.
Have you tried any of the Goodlife range?
