Hi everyone and welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Blog Club. Thank you so much for linking up to last week’s post. I hope you had a nice week.
It’s been an eventful week at ours. We have a new addition to the family. Some of you may know, some of you may not, but we had to rehome our labrador Annie as she went for my son and also bit myself.
It was with a heavy heart that we had to give her to a family friend who doesn’t have children. I simply could not have an aggressive dog around the boys.
There was so much more to deal with on top of this, such as her chewing the plaster off the walls (we rent our house so that’s not ideal) and destroying the boys toys, she was so out of control it caused so much stress in our home.
It left us all really sad that we were without a family dog yet again! Since my staffy boy of almost 16 years, we’ve never been able to find a dog that settles in with us. This time I was determined to give a needy dog a forever home, so I’ve been browsing Birmingham dogs home for quite some time now and checking out the lovely dogs who need some love. It was decided that we were not going down the puppy route again.
This one boy kept grabbing my attention and to cut a long story short, he now lives with us!
Meet Bruce, a 9-year-old staffy that has so much love to give.

aww Bruce looks lovely, I hope he settles well and you have many happy times with him. My husband would love a dog but my eldest is really scared of them. He was bitten by a dog when he was 2 yrs old and although he doesn’t remember it I think it’s the reason behind his fears.
I’m sorry you had to go through that with your rescue situation. We’ve rescued and gone with breeders looking to place dogs that aren’t suited for show. With the exception of our first rescue our dogs have not been puppies. My one and only rule is I will not have a dog with aggression issues. There are MANY challenges I am willing to manage but aggression is my breaking point.
I wish you well with your new dog and hope for a long, happy, healthy relationship.

I’ve always had rescue dogs. So rewarding but hard work.
