We do love books in our house and especially educational ones. They are a fab resource to incorporate into our home schooling.
Jayden has been studying the Holocaust over the past few weeks so when we were kindly sent a wonderful book to aid our session, we were over the moon!

This children’s book is an ideal place to start if your child is perhaps learning about the Holocaust at school or studying as part of a home-ed project like ours. It is an absolute font of information and full of bite-size facts that can be easily digested by younger readers.
The facts are documented on what looks like aged pieces of paper which make this book feel like it is in fact from the time that the events occurred. Each page is complemented by real-life images. I think this makes it even easier to understand what life was truly like at this most awful time in history.
With the help of our book, we were able to reflect on World War 2, the catastrophic murder of millions of Jews and others by the Nazi regime, discuss what life was like for children during that period, discover the awful conditions of the concentration camps, chat about conflicts of faith, Anne frank’s diary, and with International Holocaust Remembrance Day recently passing on January 27th, we covered memorials and how they honour the people who lost their lives.
The stories of bravery and survival in The Holocaust – A History For Children kept Jayden engaged throughout. It is a fantastic resource and we can highly recommend it!
This book sounds a great way to learn about The Holocaust. It is such a hard subject to discuss without traumatising little ones.
