Hey Duggee storybook with an animated dog and a scarecrow on the front cover

My two love CBeebies and have so many TV series that they love to follow on there.
Hey Duggee is one of their absolute favourites. Isn’t the theme tune just so catchy don’t you think?! The boys were delighted when we were asked to review Hey Duggee – The Best Scarecrow Ever.

Hey Duggee was created by Studio AKA and aired on CBeebies the start of this year and became an increasingly popular animated series. It has now become available as a storybook for kids to enjoy, published by Ladybird books, part of the Penguin random house group.

Duggee is a loveable big Dog who runs the squirrel club.

There are 5 cute little members of the Squirrel Club –

  • Rolo the hippo
  • Happy the crocodile
  • Norrie the mouse
  • Tag the rhino
  • Betty the octopus

They all turn up to the club to take part in all kinds of activities, have lots of adventures and earn badges along the way.

This particular story is about how Duggee and his little animal students want to grow some corn, but the sneaky birds keep stealing all of the seeds. The team then go on to create “The Best Scarecrow Ever”.

The storybook is beautifully illustrated and so colourful.

It has an activity section to the back where your little one can interact and take part in small challenges. There is also a cool novelty scarecrow badge certificate to hang on the wall once the challenges are completed.

It is a lovely book with a great easy to follow storyline, keeping the reader involved and engaged. You even get a DUGGEE HUG thrown in for free!

They also have a fun-packed ‘Squirrel Club Sticker Activity Book’ which is full of puzzles and activities. It has a pull-out double-page full of stickers and squirrel badges that you stick in the book, but Monkey preferred to show his badges off on his top.
A great pass time with plenty to do.

  4. Oh wow a Hey Duggee book! My 8 month old loves Hey Duggee, but I guess this book might be too old for her if it's 3+. Maybe by the time she's closer to the age for it there will be more 🙂
