Known for its warm, family-friendly atmosphere, it’s the perfect destination for an unforgettable getaway with loved ones. Plus, after enduring what feels like endless rainy days here in the UK, I could definitely use some sunshine and relaxation! There’s something truly magical about exploring a medieval castle—and Poppi Castle is no exception. Steeped in history and full of grand architecture, this Tuscan gem offers an immersive experience for the whole family. As you wander through the servant’s quarters, admire the lavish living areas, and step into the grand ballroom or the beautifully preserved chapel, you can almost picture knights suiting up in authentic medieval armor stored in the castle’s armory. Massaciuccoli Nature Walk

We love going for walks so this is definitely something we would like to do. This wildlife oasis is perfect for the kids to get some fresh air and do a bit of wildlife spotting. It’s family friendly boardwalks through the surrounding marshlands edges the Massaciuccoli lake, showing outstanding views all around. There is a Roman villa ruin close by so that would be an ideal opportunity to get the camera out! You can also pop in the mini-museum that shares what you can expect to see on your walk. After a nice walk around the lake you can then end the day by stopping by the nearby beach and treat yourself to an ice-cream.
