Happy hump day and happy first day of Spring too! I love this time of year. The bulbs have all woken up from their winter slumber and are cheerfully brightening up our garden. Grape hyacinths in the border
It’s been nice to get back out in the garden. I’m always at my happiest when I’m tatting around outside, it’s nice to have a little escapism for a while.
I’ve just filled up all of the feeders again and popped some more suet in our coconut holders. The birds enjoy gathering for their breakfast each morning.
The pots are cheering up the walkway. Winter pansies are so underrated. They are resilient little things really. Withstanding all of our harsh frosts and typical British weather, yet they still blissfully bloom away. Quite the hard knock of the plant world!
I think I’m going to dust the mower off this week and give the lawns the first cut of the year. It always looks much tidier when that job is done.
And the manure I dug into the borders has definitely improved the soil so we should have some lovely shows of colour this year.
Pretty pink primroses
A lovely yellow glow from the Forsythia
I’ve also had enough time on my hands to finish off my amigurumi bunny. This is the first time I have attempted to make a soft toy and don’t think I’ve done too bad. The James C Brett yarn for the body was a little chunky, but I wanted to use the scraps I had left over from the boys’ scarves. I think she looks quite pretty in her multicoloured jumpsuit.
I think I might have a go at making a pouffe for the living room next.
What have you been up to?
