After months of being on and off steroids due to my condition, I am always trying to make a conscious effort to watch what I eat. I have always been a yo-yo dieter if you like. Always trying the ‘quickest way’ to lose weight. But, we all know that’s not really the ideal way to maintain our weight, so I have gone for a more sensible approach recently and simply cut down on the fatty treats and have more fruit and fibre in my diet. I was recently introduced to So Shape, a French company that specialises in nutritional food and was really interested to see what their range was all about!
So Shape Smart Snacks Range
The So Shape Smart snacks range is designed so that you can have those yummy treats without consuming the additional sugar and fat that most delicious treats consist of!
There are 7 products in the Smart range starting off with the granola.
Red Berries Smart Granola
I love granola so I was really excited to try this. With a splash of milk, or yoghurt if you prefer, the crunchy granola was a delight to have for breakfast. The added berries gave it a nice sweet kick. Being Smart granola also means that there is 82% less sugar than in my regular red berry granola.
The chocolate chip granola was equally as tasty and probably my favourite of the two.
These quick to cook pancakes come in a powder form. To make one pancake measure out 2 scoops of powder mixed with 2 scoops of water, using the scoop provided. Mix together in bowl, add smart chocolate chips (optional) and then pour mixture on a heated pan and cook each side for 2-3 minutes. So the whole process is really quick from prepping to being cooked.
The pancakes taste surprisingly sweet, with quite a strong vanilla flavour to them. They are really fluffy in texture and filled me up quite quickly.
Cake! Who doesn’t like cakes? The muffins are available in vanilla and chocolate. They are made in the same manner as the pancakes, you add water to the powder and pop the mixture into your silicone mould. I added some smart chocolate chips in one and blueberries in the other. I baked them for 20 minutes which was sufficient for 4 muffins together.
These muffins are ideal if you just can’t shake that craving for something sweet. I have to admit, they are not as satisfying as a real muffin. However, when you bear in mind that they are a healthier alternative with only 92 calories per muffin 0.2 grams of sugar and 0.2 grams of fat, they are really good at squashing that craving.
Mug cakes are also available in this range. Simply add water and pop into the microwave for 1 minute for a quick treat!
Overall I think So Shape Smart range is a fab addition to weight loss journeys and lifestyle changes in general.
