5 Benefits Of Having Laminate Flooring

Do you have a room that you are itching to makeover but are unsure what flooring options are available to you? Have you been put off having laminate flooring in the past? Well, today I am sharing 5 reasons as to why laminate flooring could be the answer to your decorating drama.

 1 Easy To Install

You don’t have to be a craftsman to be able to fit laminate flooring. It is so simple to install. There are lots of useful tutorials available online to guide you, so the installation isn’t half as daunting as you once thought. Often all the tools you will need can be purchased as a kit so you have everything you need to get started. Measuring is easy and most sales staff will be happy to help you calculate how many packs of flooring you will need, as well as any accessories or underlay. Buying laminate flooring online is simple too as most websites have an easy to use calculator to help you decide quantity and cost.

 2 Long Lasting

Unlike carpet, laminate flooring can be more durable when it is faced with heavy traffic. Carpet pile can wear away with time and start to look very tired. Many new laminate floors have an anti-scratch coating, are waterproof and are designed for high traffic. Many also come with guarantees of up to 25 years!

3 Fits In With Most Decor

Laminate flooring comes in so many different shades, but all fit in exceptionally well with the surrounding decor. If you choose a carpet, let’s say in a shade of red, then you are very limited as to what furnishings you can have to compliment the floor. Whereas laminate comes in neutral shades, allowing you to change your themes more often.

 4 Maintainable

When you have little ones then spillage and accidents are inevitable. The beauty with laminate is that you can clean up the mess effortlessly without any stain damage that a carpet would endure. Everyday cleaning is also much easier, a quick whip round with a microfibre mop leaves the floor looking as good as new.

 5 Anti Allergy

Air quality can be improved considerably when having hard flooring fitted. It doesn’t collect dust and pollen as carpet does, therefore making life easier for allergy sufferers. It is also ideal for pet owners as the laminate flooring does not harbour pet hair, dander or nasty smells.

We have laminate throughout our downstairs and it is really easy, the only issue I have is cold toes in the morning when I first come downstairs!

I’d love to have laminate flooring in our newly decorated lounge, but it’s not really an option as my husband has movement difficulties and is afraid of slipping, which I can understand. Shame …

I do like the idea of having laminate flooring, but I’ve always preferred carpets! I think laminate gets a bit cold in the winter

Would KILL to have laminate flooring throughout the downstairs of my house! It looks contemporary, chic and tidy and is very easy to keep clean. Spills and animal paw marks that might ruin a pale carpet can be swiftly and easily dealt with.
