Creating A Fun Playroom

Creating A Fun Playroom

Do you have a spare room that has now become a place to hoard all of those unwanted gifts or to simply hide things away when somebody visits? If you have little ones, then take back control of your living room and make a fun play space for dumping the kid’s toys in for the kids to play in. Check out some of these super lovely home accessories that would be ideal for creating a colourful playroom.

Normann Copenhagen Bau Lamp

I think when choosing interior lighting for a playroom, in particular, we tend to just go for a nice bright and colourful shade to match in with the room or a light with a favourite character print on it. Why not be a little more daring with this ultra-modern sculptural hanging lamp? With colourful geometric interlocking shapes this light is not only fun but will make an awesome focal point in the room.

Trofast Storage Combination With Boxes

You can never have too much storage when it comes to kids toys. These little bold drawers are handy for keeping lego tidy, crafty bits and much more. The beauty with IKEA storage is that it’s totally customisable and they have some really nice colour schemes too.

Colourful Stars Rug

A playroom isn’t complete without a nice comfy thick pile rug to play on. This beautiful star design rug from Vertbaudet would be my first choice. You could use the stars as accents to match up to your colour scheme.

Photowall Kids Mural

Wall murals can really transform a room. A magical one like this Fantasy bookcase mural in my boy’s room would get any little one’s imagination working over time. I would have loved this in my room as a child. You can get so many designs, maybe your little one likes unicorns or perhaps you want an educational one with the alphabet on or numbers, the options are endless.

I hope these fun and quirky accessories have given you a little inspiration for those playroom ideas!

What lovely ideas….When we changed the living & dining room around we made half of the dining room Ellie’s play area. It’s nice to have a toy free living room again. I love those drawers and the rug. x

I had a playroom when I was a child but sadly my house now hasn’t got much room so I haven’t got that option

I love the trofast storage. We have it and it really makes a difference even the coloured boxes add a splash of colour to any room.
