I have to admit I am a big fan of the colder months. Although it is nice to feel the warmth of the Summer sun against my skin, there is just something really appealing about cosying up on a cold Winters night in my favourite PJ’s! This got me thinking about holidays. Don’t get me wrong, I would get on a plane to Lanzarote any day of the week, but I would also love to wrap up warm and visit somewhere cold, yet picturesque. With so many places on our travel list, I think Norway would be the first stop.
Spotting The Aurora Borealis in Northern Norway
Craig and I have always wanted to visit Norway. Not just for the beautiful surroundings but for the amazing sights of the Northern lights. It looks so magical. I can just imagine staying in a cosy old log cabin with a welcoming glow flickering from the log burner. A huge snuggly bed with some luxury bedding sets from Julian Charles, scattered with an array of faux fur cushions.
Taking a break with a nice thick cable throw and sipping at a hot drink whilst we watch the snow fall outside. It sounds quite ace, doesn’t it?
I think our next would stop would be Lapland. There are some fab opportunities to get some lovely captures with the DSLR in Lapland. As Autumn creeps in you can see Ruska, a period of time where all of the trees turn vibrant shades of orange, yellow and red. And of course, come Winter everywhere is laden with a carpet of crisp white snow. The kids can have a reindeer ride and visit Santa in his grotto, a truly amazing experience. Hopefully one we will experience in the near future!
Why don’t you #EscapeForWinter? Where do you dream of going? If you need some inspiration, Julian Charles has created a Winter ebook full of wonderful Winter Wonderland destinations. Happy travelling!
