We are all indeed bookworms in our house so when we were kindly sent this awesome picture book to review, we were delighted.
The Nightmare Before Christmas written and illustrated by the wonderful Tim Burton. Published by Picture Puffin, £12.99.
In all the world, there is no place like Halloweenland, and Jack Skellington is Halloween’s most important figure. It’s Jack who devises the holiday’s most macabre tricks and frights, and he’s delightfully done it year after year. But this year something isn’t quite right. Jack has grown bored with the usual Halloween pranks, and the joy of seeing shock and horror on people’s faces has faded.
This lovely picture book contains the original story that went on to be screened. This really is quite special though, as it contains new illustrations that have never been seen in print before!
What a lovely way to commemorate 20 years of The Night Before Christmas with these beautifully detailed illustrations and spooky spectacular storyline by Tim himself.
We really enjoyed reading this as part of our bedtime routine. I think this is just perfect for a Christmas Eve box or for bedtime reads on the run up to Christmas.
